The 2023 IUP Student Government Association

Indiana, PA, December 7, 2023 – Matt Green, a native of New Bethlehem, PA and a third-year student at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), is excited to announce his recent appointments as the Interim Director of Internal Affairs for the IUP Student Government Association and Vice President for the IUP Eberly College of Business Student Advisory Council. These key roles underscore Matt’s dedication to student leadership, community engagement, and fostering positive change within the university.

Matt’s journey in student leadership began in September 2022 when, as a second-year student, he was appointed as the IT/Technology Senator within the IUP Student Government Association. This initial significant role reflected Matt’s passion for technology, his commitment to fostering positive change, and his dedication to serving the student community.

The Indiana University of Pennsylvania Student Government Association plays a vital role in representing the interests of students, addressing their concerns, and enhancing campus life. Matt’s early involvement as the IT/Technology Senator signified his commitment to strengthening the university community, advocating for technological advancements, and working collaboratively with fellow student senators to create new opportunities for all students.

As an active member of the IUP community, Matt has demonstrated a passion for representing student interests and contributing to the overall well-being of the university.

In addition to his responsibilities as the IT/Technology Senator, Matt was recently appointed as the Interim Director of Internal Affairs for the IUP Student Government Association. His journey to the Director of Internal Affairs position is noteworthy: Matt was nominated for the role after the current Vice President of the SGA resigned to pursue another opportunity, prompting the current Director of Internal Affairs to step into the Vice President role. Following an interview process, Matt was appointed to the Director of Internal Affairs position by the President of the SGA.

Simultaneously, Matt has been named Vice President for the IUP Eberly College of Business Student Advisory Council. This position involves actively participating in strategic planning, program development, and advocating for the needs of business students within the college.

Matt is currently pursuing a degree in Management/Information Systems, minors in Business Administration and Computer Science at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, reflecting his commitment to academic excellence and personal development. This educational background equips Matt with a strong foundation to contribute strategic insights and innovative solutions to both the IUP Student Government Association and the Eberly College of Business Student Advisory Council.

When asked about his recent appointments, Matt expressed enthusiasm, stating, “I am thrilled to take on these leadership roles and contribute to the growth and development of our student community. I extend my sincere gratitude to my fellow students within the Student Government Association and the Eberly College of Business Student Advisory Council for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout the application process. Their belief in my ability to serve in these capacities is truly motivating, and I look forward to collaborating with them to create a positive and inclusive environment for all.”
